Calhoun County Pickleball Tournament 2025: The Calhoun County Sports Hall of Fame held its first pickleball tournament on June 21, 2025, drawing players from across the region to the Oxford Lake Pickleball Courts at 401 McCullars Lane in Oxford, Alabama. The event featured several categories and aimed to unite the community through friendly, athletic competition.
A New Event with Strong Support
This was the first time the Hall of Fame hosted a sporting event like this. The tournament was created in partnership with 256 Pickleball and the City of Oxford. Games were held for men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles, including a special 50+ division for older players.
During the opening ceremony, Audrey Oswalt, who directed the tournament, was thanked for organizing the event. Paul Sparrowhawk, president of 256 Pickleball, and Connie Davidson, president of the Calhoun County Sports Hall of Fame, were also recognized for their roles.
Oxford City Council member Mike Henderson welcomed players and showed support for the event. Connie Davidson said, “This is our very first time doing something like this with the Hall of Fame, and I’m just blown away. Events like this help us continue our mission to recognize outstanding athletic achievement and support future activities.”
