Curious About Pickleball? Montgomery Village Launches Fun Beginner Class This July

Pickleball Beginner Summer II Class for adults, was scheduled to run every Tuesday from July 1 to July 29, 2025, at North Creek Community Center in Montgomery Village, Maryland. Classes took place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the North Creek Pickleball Courts.

Learning the Basics with Expert Coaching

The program focused on teaching beginners the fundamentals of pickleball. These included serves, strokes, dinks, footwork, and understanding the rules of the game.

PPR-certified instructor Karl Van Neste led the course. He used a mix of drills and doubles games to help players build skills and gain confidence.

Pickleball is a fast-growing sport that mixes tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Players use solid paddles to hit a plastic ball with holes over a net. Both paddles and balls were provided for participants.

Fun, Fitness, and New Skills

Organizers encouraged locals to give the sport a try. The sessions were designed to be fun and welcoming, especially for adults who were new to pickleball.

Held at 20125 Arrowhead Road, the event gave people a chance to get active, learn something new, and meet others in the community.

A Sport for Everyone

Programs like this help support the rise of pickleball in neighborhoods across the country. With friendly classes and certified coaches like Karl Van Neste, more people are picking up paddles and joining the movement.

As interest continues to grow, Montgomery Village could see more beginner and advanced pickleball sessions in the future.
