Long Beach Launches Free Summer Pickleball Clinics for Kids—Spots Filling Fast!

Long Beach Pickleball Youth Clinics: The Long Beach Township Recreation Department and The Picklr have teamed up to host free pickleball clinics for kids aged 10 to 14 every Wednesday evening this summer. These weekly sessions run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and are designed to teach young players the game in a fun, supportive setting.

Learning the Game and Having Fun

Held on three active courts, each clinic offers hands-on instruction for up to 18 participants. The smaller group size helps ensure every child receives attention and playing time. The clinics are open to all skill levels—whether a child is just starting out or wants to sharpen their game.

Each session is led by two trained instructors from The Picklr. Kids learn the basic rules, practice drills, and play games that focus on building skills and teamwork in a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere.

What Families Need to Know

Registration is required and opens one week before each clinic. Parents are encouraged to sign up early, as spots fill quickly. If a child has a pickleball paddle, they should bring it along. If not, The Picklr will provide paddles and balls so everyone can participate.

The clinics will continue every Wednesday through the summer, offering consistent chances for kids to stay active, try something new, and enjoy the sport with others their age.

Helping the Sport Grow Among Youth

By providing these free clinics, Long Beach Township and The Picklr are making pickleball more accessible to the next generation of players. Programs like this help grow interest in the sport and give young athletes a safe and fun way to stay involved in physical activity.
