Ace Pickleball Club Indoor Facility Launch: This summer, pickleball players in Southwest Florida will have a new way to enjoy the sport—indoors. Ace Pickleball Club is opening a 34,000-square-foot public indoor facility in Fort Myers at 2501 Alessio Drive. It will offer 12 cushioned courts, open play all day, and other premium features.
The new club will be the first of its kind in the region to provide high-quality indoor pickleball to the public. Players can sign up for a $99-per-month membership, which includes unlimited play, beginner clinics, and paddle demos. The club will also offer recording tools so players can review and improve their skills.
Answering a Growing Need
Many players in Southwest Florida face long waits and harsh outdoor conditions when trying to play. McKinley Cooper, a North Naples resident and longtime player, created Ace to solve these problems.
“Living here in Southwest Florida, and having played regularly on outdoor courts, the heat and unpredictable weather is a challenge. We often wished for an indoor option,” said McKinley Cooper.
She launched the first Ace location in Lutz near Tampa. “The response there just blew us away,” Cooper said. “Now we are focusing on Fort Myers and people are already reaching out. We are very excited about it.”
The Fort Myers facility will feature 34-foot ceilings, fencing between courts, break rooms, and two warm-up areas. Courts will be grouped by skill level, and the number of members will be capped to reduce wait times.
Player Experience Makes the Difference
Local players from the Tampa location say the indoor setup has changed how they enjoy the game. Dominic Dorsey plays five to six times a week, for four to five hours a day. He no longer plays at his community court.
“Being indoors, I don’t have to be out in the sun. It is hard to play outdoors out there all the time. You sweat so much. It is so much better being indoors,” said Dominic Dorsey.
Dorsey appreciates the recording system. “You have the opportunity to get better by seeing yourself play,” he said. He also values the consistent quality of games. “It gives you the opportunity to go right in and play every day and know you are going to get some good games,” he added.
Brett Foster enjoys the comfort of air conditioning and convenient hours. “You can play longer because you are not getting fatigued due to the heat and the sun,” said Brett Foster.
His wife, Jessica Foster, said, “Outdoors, you have the wind, and the sun is a factor, so having more control is better for consistency. The court surface is very nice. It is easier on the knees. I think the level of play is good there. There are good games.”
What Comes Next
Ace Pickleball Club in Fort Myers will be open from 6 a.m. until late at night. There is no need for reservations—players can come and go based on their own schedule.
“Just come in a play when it works for you,” said McKinley Cooper.
She believes this is just the beginning. “We are actively looking for other locations,” Cooper said. “It will provide players like ourselves the ultimate playing conditions.”
