Baton Rouge’s Court to Table Serves Up Pickleball, Dining, and Live Entertainment in One Game-Changing Spot

Court to Table Pickleball Venue: A new entertainment spot combining pickleball and dining, Court to Table, will open on Sunday, June 29. Located on Burbank Drive where The Shed BBQ once stood, it features 11 indoor and outdoor courts, a restaurant, a bar, lawn games, and a live music stage.

A New Kind of Destination

Court to Table sits on about 6 acres of land and brings a fresh idea to Baton Rouge. The concept blends sports and social fun, all in one location. It was created by local attorney Gordon McKernan and partners Ozzie Fernandez, Bob Barton, Destin Thibodeaux, and Clay Furr.

The space is designed for more than just pickleball. It’s also a place to eat, relax, and enjoy music or games with friends and family.

Fun for Everyone

Visitors can play pickleball, have a sit-down meal, watch sports, or listen to live music. Gordon McKernan said, “This is more than a pickleball facility. We call it ‘eat-ertainment,’ where you can come, get a great workout, play pickleball and have that activity, or if you just want to come in on a date or (as) a group of guys to watch sports or bring your family with kids. We wanted something for everyone.”

This new venue combines recreation and relaxation to meet the growing demand for pickleball while also offering a community space.

Looking Ahead

Court to Table is expected to attract both athletes and families. Its flexible space and wide offerings could make it a popular place for local gatherings, group events, and tournaments. As pickleball continues to grow in the U.S., venues like this are becoming more common.

With its unique mix of food, sports, and entertainment, Court to Table aims to become a go-to spot for all ages.
