Bristol Unveils Page Park Pickleball Courts: Game-Changing Upgrades Set to Serve Community Demand

Page Park Pickleball Courts Opening: The City of Bristol will open new pickleball courts at Page Park on July 1. The Bristol Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services group said the courts are part of a large renovation project. The tennis courts at the park on King Street will also reopen the same day.

Improving Local Recreation

Page Park is in the first phase of major upgrades. The improvements include new parking, better walking paths, more lighting, and work on the pond. As part of this phase, a tennis and pickleball area has been built with shaded seating, a picnic area, and four lit pickleball courts.

Bristol Mayor Jeff Caggiano said the courts will help meet demand.

“I’m excited to be offering another amenity for our residents to play pickleball, and these courts will be available later into the night once the lights are fully activated later this year,” said Jeff Caggiano.

Responding to Community Needs

BPRYCS Superintendent Joshua Medeiros said this project answers a need for more courts.

“Our 2020 Master Plan identified a deficit of pickleball courts in the city, and we are excited to be able to deliver on our promise to meet the growing recreational needs of Bristol residents,” said Joshua Medeiros.

He explained that work will continue even after the courts open.

“There is still paving to be done, landscaping to do, signage to be installed, and the lights are not yet fully programmed,” said Joshua Medeiros. “We’re asking community members to be patient and understanding while we continue to work on the project as a whole.”

How to Use the New Courts

The courts will be free for public use on a first-come, first-served basis. People can also rent them for $25 for two hours or $100 for a season. Parking is available near the playground and basketball court across the street.

To celebrate the soft opening, BPRYCS will hold a pickleball tournament on August 9. The event will have competitive and recreational divisions. Registration is open until July 20 and costs $100 per team, with each player receiving a T-shirt.

The full grand opening will happen late this year or early next year when all Phase I work is finished. Phase II will start in 2026.
