Blythewood Park Unveils Vibrant Pickleball Courts, Sparking a Community Fitness Revival

Blythewood Park Pickleball Court Opening: Six new pickleball courts were opened at Blythewood Park Recreation Center on Thursday, June 26. A ribbon cutting was held at 10 a.m. to celebrate this project. The courts now have bright blue and green surfaces and shiny black fencing, giving the area a fresh look.

From Old Tennis Courts to Busy Pickleball Courts

These courts were once tennis courts that were used less and less in recent years. Richland County officials decided to renovate them to meet the growing demand for pickleball. The sport has become much more popular, and players wanted better spaces to play.

According to Richland County leaders, the new courts are expected to get much more use than the old tennis courts did. Local pickleball enthusiasts are excited to have a dedicated place to meet, practice, and compete.

A New Way to Stay Active in the Community

The new pickleball area is part of Blythewood Park’s goal to help people stay active and build community connections. By adding these courts, the park hopes to give residents more ways to enjoy exercise and spend time together outdoors.
