Turtle Rock Park Pickleball Reopening: Alpine County has reopened the pickleball courts at Turtle Rock Park after repairs were completed. The courts had been closed because of damage from the Tamarack Fire. New pickleball nets are now in place, and people can start playing immediately.
New Nets and Fresh Facilities
The Alpine County Community Development Department shared that while the tennis net installation is planned for later this week, the pickleball courts are fully ready. This work is part of a larger project to improve local recreation areas for residents and visitors.
Community Development Deputy Director Ethan Gray said, “We truly appreciate the community’s patience and support throughout the recovery process. We’re ecstatic to bring this beloved amenity back to Turtle Rock Park with a fresh new look. These courts offer an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to enjoy recreational sports in a unique and beautiful setting.”
Free Access for All Ages
The courts are located in the middle of Turtle Rock Park and are free for everyone to use on a first-come, first-served basis. Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join in games. For anyone needing equipment, pickleball paddles and balls can be rented from the Alpine County Library.
This reopening is expected to help more people enjoy the outdoors, stay active, and build community connections in the park.
