Sarasota’s New Indoor Pickleball Club Becomes Unexpected Hub for Fitness and Friendship

Dill Dinkers Sarasota Pickleball Community: Dill Dinkers, a new indoor pickleball club on Tallevast Road in Sarasota, has quickly become a favorite place for players of all levels. Opened earlier this year, the club offers a cool space to stay active and connect with others as pickleball grows across the country.

A Place for Everyone

The club has 12 indoor courts, including nine regulation courts, two championship courts, an Erne ball machine, and a dinking court. This setup welcomes beginners and professional players alike.

“Dill Dinkers’ mission is to spread the joy of pickleball by creating community amongst our members and visitors,” said Heather Dull, Director of Operations and Sales. “We do this by providing appropriate engaging programming to distinct groups from beginners to touring pros. We host round robins, skill and open play and court reservations. Visitors and guests are always welcome. Both our membership and usage fees are low—you only pay when you play.”

Programs and Community

The club offers open play every day from 8–11 a.m. for $10 and beginner clinics each Sunday. Staff help players find the right skill level and offer coaching. As summer temperatures rise, the climate-controlled courts are a big draw.

“So many people are looking to learn to play pickleball but often have no idea where to start. My husband, Tim, and I (the founders of this club) often teach the beginners ourselves because we have so much fun meeting new players and hearing their stories of why they want to learn to play,” Heather Dull said. “Sometimes the stories originate in some pain or loss, but so often they include a search for friendship and community. This is the new third place for so many—after home and work, this is where the people come to enjoy themselves and de-stress.”

Local Connections

The club also works with local businesses and nonprofits. They run special programs that use light competition to help teams bond and build trust.

Heather Dull added, “We are often exhausted by building this startup but we are so gratified by how appreciated our club is by our pickleball community. We love our pickleball family in Sarasota!”

The Future of Dill Dinkers

Dill Dinkers plans to keep growing as more people discover pickleball. The club aims to be a lasting place for fitness, friendship, and learning.
