Long Island’s Hottest New Pickleball Club: SPORTIME Westbury has opened a new pickleball facility on Long Island this spring. The club has 13 climate-controlled courts made for all levels of play. The space also has lounges, a café, a pro shop, and event rooms, making it the first SPORTIME site dedicated only to pickleball.
A Premier Pickleball Destination
Lisa Scotti, General Manager of SPORTIME Westbury, shared that this location was built to be the best pickleball facility on Long Island.
“Westbury is very special to the SPORTIME family because so much care was taken to create a true pickleball with the finest quality on Long Island,” Lisa Scotti said. She explained that their Port Washington site started pickleball for SPORTIME, but Westbury is the first club focused only on the sport.
Special Opening Event
The club held a grand opening with an Open House. Players of all levels joined for open play sessions. The day ended with a 4.0 level open play that filled every court.
“We sold out for each session and each level the whole day,” Lisa Scotti said. “The event and day were greater than we could have imagined.”
Modern Features and Partnerships
Players can enjoy courtside lounges and changing rooms with showers. A grab-and-go café and party room overlook the courts. Through partnerships with Joola, Selkirk, and Diadem, members have access to top pickleball gear and special events.
Growing the Sport
SPORTIME Westbury plans to set new standards for pickleball clubs on Long Island.
“Westbury pickleball is offering programming that differs from other clubs. We are focused on serving our players in all aspects of the game, from court time and instruction, to equipment and special events,” Lisa Scotti said.
She added, “We have become quite popular with special events because of the open floor layout and the amenities we offer for small and large events. We are setting the precedent for the real pickleball experience on Long Island, which is the social aspect of the game. Creating a social space with fun competition and the pickleball culture is our goal.”
Community Impact
With this opening, SPORTIME Westbury is expected to draw more players and help the sport grow even more. The facility combines top-quality courts with a social space, aiming to bring people together through pickleball.
