Serve Up Summer Fun: Open Gym Pickleball Nights Invite Adults to Lake Marion Community Center

Open Gym Pickleball Summer II Program: Adults in Montgomery Village will have a chance to play pickleball on Thursday evenings this summer. The Open Gym Pickleball Summer II program will run from July 17, 2025, to August 28, 2025. Games will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lake Marion Community Center, located at 8821 East Village Avenue.

Organizers have set up special lines on the gym floor for pickleball. This sport mixes tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Players will use paddles and a plastic ball to hit over a net.

A Welcoming Program for All Skill Levels

Both new and experienced players are invited. Limited equipment will be available for those who need it. Anyone age 18 and older can join these sessions.

People who want to play can simply drop in, with no advance sign-up required. However, the program has a rule that if no one shows up within 15 minutes after it starts, the open gym will be canceled for that evening.

How the Schedule Works

The games are planned for every Thursday night through late August. Each session lasts an hour and a half. This program will be held in the gymnasium of Lake Marion Community Center.

Benefits of Playing Pickleball Together

Playing pickleball gives adults a chance to stay active, meet neighbors, and learn a fun sport. The open gym setting is a good way for beginners to try pickleball without pressure. Regular players can practice and enjoy friendly matches.

The event shows how communities like Montgomery Village are working to bring people together through sports and recreation. As more people discover pickleball, the program could grow in the future.
