Pittsburg Kids Discover Big Fun at Little Pickles Pickleball Clinic—Here’s What Happened

Little Pickles Pickleball Clinic Pittsburg: A special pickleball clinic for children called “Little Pickles” took place at Four Oaks Sports Complex in Pittsburg, Kansas, from July 8 to July 10. Organized by the Pittsburgh Parks & Recreation Department, the event welcomed kids ages 5 to 12 for three days of learning and fun on the court.

Pickleball Made Simple for Kids

Pickleball is a paddle sport that blends parts of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. It’s easy to pick up and enjoyable for all ages, which made it a perfect fit for the young participants at this clinic.

The “Little Pickles” clinic charged a $30 fee per child. All gear, including paddles and balls, was provided so kids could focus on having fun.

Divided by Age for Better Learning

Children were grouped by school grade to make the sessions more effective. Kids in kindergarten through 2nd grade played from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Students in 3rd through 6th grade played from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Each group had their own time to practice basic skills, play games, and get active with others in their age range.

Hosted by Pittsburg Parks & Recreation

The Pittsburg Parks & Recreation Department planned and led the clinic. It was part of their summer activity series aimed at keeping children active and engaged during the school break.

Held at Four Oaks Sports Complex, located at 910 Memorial Drive, the clinic provided a safe and welcoming space for kids to try out the sport in a well-organized setting.

Helping Kids Learn and Play

Events like the “Little Pickles” clinic help kids stay healthy, build confidence, and make friends through sports. They also offer parents a chance to introduce their children to new activities close to home.

More youth-focused clinics and camps may follow as local interest in pickleball continues to grow.
