Free Long Beach Pickleball Clinics Ignite Youth Craze—Spots Filling Fast!

Long Beach Pickleball Clinic for Kids: Kids between the ages of 10 and 14 can now take part in free weekly pickleball clinics in Long Beach Township. These sessions, held every Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. until August 27, take place at the 68th Street courts in Brant Beach. The program is a partnership between The Picklr-Manahawkin-LBI and the Long Beach Township Recreation Department.

Each clinic introduces children to the basics of pickleball through fun games and hands-on instruction. Spots are limited to 18 kids per session, and registration must be completed online at signupgenius.com. Many dates are already full, but a waitlist is available.

Clinics Designed for Beginners

The classes are held on three courts and taught by two instructors from The Picklr-Manahawkin-LBI, a new indoor pickleball club located off Route 72 in Manahawkin. The sessions are built to teach kids how to play after just one clinic.

“Through a series of fun drills, games and hands-on instructions, after one clinic kids will be ready to play,” the township notes.

These sessions give kids an easy way to get involved in the country’s fastest-growing sport in a safe and welcoming setting.

Strong Local Support for Pickleball

Pickleball has quickly become a favorite sport in Long Beach Township. The courts are often busy all day, according to the township’s recreation department.

“Pickleball has become one of the town’s most popular activities for people of all ages; our courts are often booked from morning to evening,” said Regina Lotito of the Long Beach Township Recreation Department. “We are glad to offer this program so that kids can learn to play this fun sport.”

Tom Neale, owner of The Picklr-Manahawkin-LBI, spoke about the value of working together with the township.

“This collaboration with the Long Beach Township Recreation Department is a great example of a public-private partnership that benefits the community. The growth of pickleball is beneficial for all of us, so it’s our pleasure to make our experienced instructors available to the community and encourage kids to get in on the country’s fastest growing sport,” said Tom Neale.

Community Impact and Future Growth

These clinics not only teach a new sport but also encourage kids to be active and social. With rising interest in pickleball, programs like this help create new players while supporting healthy habits.

If interest remains high, similar events may continue or expand in future seasons.
