Tolland Senior Center Pickleball Court: Tolland, Connecticut has added a new pickleball court at the Tolland Senior Center, marking the third active location for the fast-growing sport in town. Town Manager Brian Foley announced the court is now finished and open to the public outside of senior hours.
New Court at the Senior Center
The newest pickleball court is located at the Tolland Senior Center. Brian Foley confirmed in his latest report to the Tolland Town Council that the court is complete and ready for play.
“Many thanks to all who contributed to the completion of this fantastic addition to our senior center,”(Brian Foley).
The court is available to seniors during center hours. Outside of those times, it is open to all residents.
“Whether you’re a seasoned player or trying it for the first time, we invite you to stop by, pick up your paddle, and join in the fun,”(Brian Foley).
Other Pickleball Locations in Tolland
Tolland’s pickleball presence also includes four dedicated courts at Heron Cove Park. These courts were built using $415,000 from the state’s Small Town Economic Assistance Program, or STEAP. In addition, combination tennis and pickleball courts are in use at Crandall Park. That project received $500,000 in STEAP funding.
Pickleball’s Steady Growth in Tolland
The town now boasts courts at three different sites: the Tolland Senior Center, Heron Cove Park, and Crandall Park. These additions make it easier for people of all ages to try pickleball and stay active. Town leaders say the effort is helping to bring the community together through recreation.
