Pickleball Fundraiser to Support Kerr County Flood Victims Set for Sunday in San Antonio

Alamo Beer Pickleball Fundraiser: A pickleball fundraiser will take place on Sunday, July 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Alamo Beer Company in San Antonio to support families impacted by deadly flooding in Kerr County. The event will raise money for the Salvation Army’s relief efforts.

Event Brings Community Together

Local business PickleballGo is teaming up with Alamo Beer Company, food trucks, and small vendors to host the event at 202 Lamar Street. All proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army, which is actively helping flood victims.

At least 96 people, including 36 children, have been confirmed dead due to severe flooding in Hill Country. Kerr County has been one of the hardest-hit areas.

Arantza Alonso, founder of PickleballGo, explained the motivation behind the fundraiser:

“We’re aiming for everything that we could do … anything is better than nothing,” Arantza Alonso said. “And we’re hoping that people [come] … we all have the same vision, and it’s to help Kerr County and all the affected.”

Efforts Aimed at Relief and Unity

While the event centers on fun and friendly competition, its primary goal is to provide meaningful support to families in need. Attendees will also enjoy food, drinks, and local shopping while contributing to an important cause.

The Salvation Army has increased its aid in Kerr County, providing shelter, food, and supplies to those affected. Organizers hope this event will not only raise funds but also spread awareness.

Looking Ahead

The turnout and donations on Sunday could help shape future community-led efforts in disaster relief. Organizers plan to continue using sports like pickleball as a way to bring people together for causes that matter.
