Kentwood Pickleball Court and Restaurant: West Michigan’s pickleball community has a new place to play and dine. Andy Anderson, a former Beer City Open champion, officially opened Dinks and Dingers Social Club in Kentwood. The facility features six indoor pickleball courts, a Wiffle® ball field, and a full-service restaurant and bar.
A Vision Born from Passion
Andy Anderson, who started playing pickleball during the COVID-19 pandemic, turned a backyard hobby into a full-fledged business.
“I got involved with pickleball during COVID,”. “My family and I would play at the park. About three years ago, I really started playing.”(Andy Anderson)
Anderson, who once won Grand Rapids’ Beer City Open at Belknap Park, has become a familiar name in local pickleball circles.
“I’m not a professional, but I’m a decent player,” (Andy Anderson).
His love for the sport and interest in restaurant ownership sparked the idea for Dinks and Dingers.
“I always actually wanted to own a restaurant,”. “But, it wasn’t really on my radar until I got into pickleball and saw all these cool pickleball restaurant facilities in the southwest opening up.”(Andy Anderson)
More Than Just Pickleball
The 31,000-square-foot venue, located off Broadmoor Avenue in Kentwood, offers something for everyone. Along with indoor courts and sports space, the restaurant serves a variety of dishes like smash burgers, shareables, salads, and themed drinks like the Pickletini and Dinks Cosmo.
Anderson hopes the dining experience will appeal to all visitors — not just athletes.
“We’re not a private club that’s just going to cater toward pickleball fanatics,”. “We want the public here, those that have never even played pickleball.”(Andy Anderson)
Open for Everyone
Dinks and Dingers Social Club will officially open to the public on July 17. Court reservations and open play will begin the same day. A private grand opening event for members, friends, and family is set for July 15.
“Dinks and Dingers is open to the public, anybody can reserve a court,”. “We do offer three different membership levels to players that want to be here more frequently.”(Andy Anderson)
A Community Destination
With its mix of sport and social features, Dinks and Dingers Social Club hopes to become a go-to destination in Kentwood for both pickleball fans and casual guests. As more people discover the sport, Anderson’s goal is to keep the space open, welcoming, and community-driven.
