Pickle at the Palms Indoor Pickleball Facility: Construction has started on Pickle at the Palms, a new indoor pickleball facility located at 3435 15th Avenue West in Interbay, Seattle. The complex will include 20 indoor courts and plans to open by summer 2026. It aims to serve players of all ages and skill levels with a wide range of programs.
New Facility with Big Plans
Pickle at the Palms is being developed by Ginny Gilder, Sierra Gilder, and Kyle Schraeder. Ginny Gilder, a former Olympic silver medalist in rowing and co-owner of the Seattle Storm, brings deep sports experience. Sierra Gilder, an athlete and designer, is leading the design aspects. Kyle Schraeder, Sierra’s husband and a former Division I tennis player and coach, is the general manager.
The team has been working on this project since 2023, when they first announced plans to turn the site of a former car wash into a major pickleball venue. In the time since, the lot has been used as a safe space for RV parking and temporary tiny homes.

Sellen Construction is managing the build, while AXIS Architecture + Design is leading the design. Maria Barrientos of barrientosRYAN is both the project’s developer and investor.
Community and Programming
Pickle at the Palms will offer open play, court bookings, clinics, lessons, and tournaments. It will also host events for all skill levels and ages. Local Seattle artist Sam Wood is creating a mural for the building’s front, inspired by pickleball’s energy and movement.
What’s Next
When it opens in summer 2026, Pickle at the Palms will be one of the largest indoor pickleball centers in Seattle. Its goal is to grow the sport while creating a welcoming place for both beginners and serious players. With its prime location and strong team behind it, the facility is set to become a major part of the city’s sports scene.
