Dinking for Our Military Pickleball Tournament: The Blue Star Mothers of the High Country will host a charity pickleball tournament called “Dinking for Our Military” on July 26 at Summit Pickleball. The event will raise funds to support military families and veterans across Watauga, Ashe, and Avery counties in North Carolina.
Tournament Details and Registration
The event is open to all skill levels and will follow a round robin format. Advanced players (4.0+) will start at 9:00 a.m., beginner and intermediate players at 11:30 a.m., and advanced 3.5+ players at 2:00 p.m. The entry fee is $30.
Players must register by July 20. Medals will be given to the top three in each group. Winners will also receive gift certificates and other pickleball-themed prizes. All participants will receive a rally towel.
Food, Drinks, and Community Support
The Blue Star Mothers of the High Country will offer free snacks and water to all players and guests. Summit Pickleball will sell extra snacks and beer during the tournament.
The event aims to bring the community together to show appreciation for local military members and their families.

The Blue Star Mothers of the High Country is part of the Blue Star Mothers of America. It is a nonprofit group that supports active-duty troops, veterans, and their families. The chapter serves Watauga, Ashe, and Avery counties.
Besides monthly meetings, the group organizes community events such as enlistment dinners, Valentine’s Day gifts for the VA, and care packages for deployed service members.
