Vincennes Pickleball Classic Tournament: Vincennes, Indiana, is preparing to welcome more than 100 players for its first-ever pickleball tournament, the Vincennes Pickleball Classic, scheduled to take place from July 25 to July 27 at Gregg Park. As of July 15, 2025, 150 players had signed up from Indiana and nearby states.
The event is being organized by the Vincennes Pickleball Club, with strong support from local businesses. City Council member Reginna Blinn, who also represents the club, shared updates during Monday’s council meeting and encouraged the entire community to attend the event.
Players from Across the Region
Participants are expected from several nearby states including Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, and all over Indiana. The tournament will feature various divisions, including a 5.0 division that showcases semi-professional talent.
“So even if you’re not a pickleball player, come out July 25th, 26th, and 27th and watch some of the games. We’re having a 5.0 division, which is semi-pro. And what I’ve been told is some of them that are coming are very elite players. We’re really excited about it in our little pickleball community, but I think it’s something everybody in Vincennes could come and enjoy,” said Reginna Blinn.
Registration for the event closes on Friday, July 19, 2025.
Local Support and Excitement
Reginna Blinn also thanked local businesses for helping bring the tournament to life through sponsorships. Their financial support has helped cover costs and promote the event across the community.
Blinn emphasized that the tournament is not just for players, but also for families and residents looking for something fun to do that weekend. The event is free to watch, and spectators can enjoy high-level play and a strong community atmosphere.
Building Community Through Sport
This is the first time Vincennes is hosting such a pickleball event, and organizers hope it leads to more tournaments and greater interest in the sport. With strong early turnout and elite players participating, the tournament could become a regular feature on the city’s sports calendar.
By attracting players and visitors from other states, the Vincennes Pickleball Classic also brings positive attention to the city and its growing pickleball community.
