Pelham’s Youth Pickleball Clinic Promises Fast-Paced Fun—Limited Spots Up for Grabs!

Youth Pickleball Clinic Pelham 2025: Pelham Parks and Recreation will host a Youth Pickleball Clinic on Saturday, July 26, at the Pelham Recreation Center. The event is for kids aged 10 to 16 and costs $18 per child. Registration is open until Friday, July 25, and space is limited. The clinic aims to introduce young players to the basics of pickleball, one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States.

Certified instructors will lead the one-day session from the Magic City Pickleball Club. It will cover key techniques such as serving, volleying, driving, and dinking, as well as game strategy and court movement. The clinic is designed to be fun and easy to follow, no matter the child’s skill level.

Pickleball’s Growing Appeal Among Youth

Will Mayhall, the recreation program supervisor for Pelham Parks and Recreation, said interest in the sport is growing fast.

The event is a response to increasing requests from families in the Pelham area who want more youth programs for pickleball. As the sport spreads in schools and neighborhoods, local parks departments are looking for ways to keep up with demand.

Certified Coaches to Lead Hands-On Drills

The clinic will be taught by trained coaches from the Magic City Pickleball Club, who bring years of experience.

The focus will be on helping kids understand the sport through practice games and team drills. Participants will be introduced to teamwork and technique in a relaxed, friendly setting. The session is meant to build confidence and spark interest in continued play.

Looking Ahead: Building the Next Generation of Players

The Pelham Parks and Recreation Department hopes this clinic will help more kids stay active and pick up a new hobby that’s fun and social. Pickleball is becoming more common in school gyms and after-school programs. Events like this help connect students with trained coaches and resources beyond the classroom.

By encouraging young players to learn the sport early, the city is helping build a stronger foundation for community involvement in pickleball. Clinics like this may also lead to future leagues or more advanced lessons if enough interest continues.
