Thurman Family Pickleball Center Opening: The YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City is building its first outdoor pickleball facility. Called the Thurman Family Pickleball Center, it will have eight courts and is expected to open on August 1, 2025. The new facility will be located next to the Earlywine Park YMCA.

A New Space for Pickleball Players

The Thurman Family Pickleball Center will be the YMCA’s first outdoor area built just for pickleball. It’s designed to give players a space to play, train, and gather.

Construction is underway, and the center will have eight courts once finished. It will be open to the public and is expected to become a hub for community sports in Oklahoma City.

Indoor Courts Still Available

Right now, the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City also offers pickleball at the YMCA Healthy Living Center. This facility has three indoor acrylic courts. These courts allow members to continue playing while waiting for the outdoor center to be completed.

Pickleball is quickly growing in popularity across the U.S., and Oklahoma City is no different. The YMCA’s new outdoor facility shows how much demand there is for places to play.
