North Creek Learn Pickleball Classes: Adults interested in learning pickleball can now join a summer class for advanced beginners, starting Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the North Creek Community Center in Montgomery Village. The weekly class runs through August 26, every Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and will be taught by PPR-certified instructor Karl Van Neste. The goal of the course is to help players improve their skills and understanding of pickleball in a fun and supportive setting.
What to Expect in the Class
The four-session course is designed for adults who already know the basics of the game but want to improve. The lessons will cover strokes, serves, dinks, footwork, and official game rules. Each class will also include practice drills and doubles match play to help players gain confidence.
All equipment, including paddles and balls, will be provided at the court. The program will take place at the North Creek Pickleball Courts, located at 20125 Arrowhead Road, Montgomery Village, Maryland, 20886.
About the Instructor and the Sport
Instructor Karl Van Neste, who is certified by the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR), will lead all the sessions. He will guide the participants through each step of the game and help them build on their current skills.
Pickleball is a fun and fast-growing paddle sport that mixes parts of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It can be played by two or four people. Players use solid paddles to hit a plastic ball with holes over a net.
