The PPA Challenger Series is hosting the event at the new Gower Park pickleball complex, attracting both professional and amateur players of all ages. First Pro Tournament in the Chippewa Valley
The tournament is happening at the Gower Park pickleball complex, which was finished last summer. It is now the biggest pickleball facility in Wisconsin. The PPA Challenger Series includes matches for amateurs, professionals, and seniors, offering a variety of skill levels and age groups.
Tournament manager Jacob Guidry said the event aims to promote the sport in new areas. “We come here to places like this because we want to grow the sport from the bottom level. We really want to grow the sport of pickleball and that means engaging with the local communities,” Jacob Guidry said.
Excitement Builds Among Local Fans
Jacob Guidry also mentioned how locals are enjoying both playing and watching the matches. “I’ve talked with a few of the people who are local and they’re just excited to get out here and play, but also you’ll notice they’re sitting in the bleachers and watching some of these upcoming pros,” Guidry added.
The tournament is open to the public and will run through Sunday. Fans can buy tickets online or at the entrance of Gower Park.
