About the World Pickleball Tour
The World Pickleball Tour is a nationwide amateur series that organized 25 events in 2024 and plans to host nearly 35 in 2025. All of its tournaments are “challenger” events. Medalists from each event earn discounted entry to the 2025 WPT Amateur Invitational Championships, where the best players will compete for a share of a $175,000 cash prize.
Event organizers stated:
“We exist to grow the game at the grassroots level, and aim to provide high-quality, valuable, and memorable competitive experiences for you all, the amateur players. We look forward to seeing you at this event!”
Tournament Format and Player Perks
The event is unsanctioned and will follow a Round Robin format. Each player is guaranteed six matches, with games played to 11 points, win by 2. After the Round Robin stage, a single-elimination bracket will decide winners.
Matches are separated by skill levels from 3.0 to 5.0 and age groups including 19+, 30+, 40+, 50+, and 60+. A 70+ age group may be added after registration ends. Players under 18 can compete in the 19+ division.
All participants will receive:
A WPT DRIFIT t-shirt
Free photography from the event
Automatic entry of DUPR scores
Access to sponsored giveaways, including paddles and gear
Event Schedule and Multiple Entries
The competition runs in time blocks at 8:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. on all three days. Events are split across the weekend:
Friday: Men’s Singles and Women’s Doubles
Saturday: Mixed Doubles
Sunday: Men’s Doubles and Women’s Singles
Players can sign up for two events in one day if time blocks don’t conflict. Once registration closes and the schedule is set on August 4, 2025, players may request to enter a second bracket that fits their time slot.
Waitlist and Bracket Details
Each event bracket will start with a limit of nine players or teams. If full, new registrants will be placed on a waitlist. Brackets may expand to a maximum of 11 entries if space allows. Some divisions might be combined to create balanced play.
For doubles, the second teammate must register within two days. If not, the first player is moved to the waitlist automatically. Both players will receive email notifications if this happens.
Refund Policy and Fees
The total cost includes a $70 registration fee and a $30 fee for each event. If a player cancels, a refund credit will be given, minus a $30 processing fee. This credit can be used for a future WPT event.
Players agree to this policy when they register:
“Refunds in the form of credits, less a $30 processing fee, will be issued for all cancellations regardless of reason. These funds can be put towards the tournament fees of future events.”
