Colorado’s Biggest Indoor Pickleball Club Serves Up Sport, Food, and Community in a Former Sam’s Club

Relish Food Hall Pickleball Club Launch: On June 20, 2025, Relish Food Hall // Pickleball opened in Louisville, Colorado. Located in a former Sam’s Club on South McCaslin Boulevard, it features 19 indoor pickleball courts — the most in the state — along with a food hall, lounge, outdoor patio, and event spaces.

Owners Jeff Youngstrom and Tory Leggat created Relish to be more than a sports venue. They wanted a social space where people could play, eat, and connect. “You come and play — it’s great exercise — and you end up making friendships. Chatting at the net builds community,” said Jeff Youngstrom.

A Place to Play and Socialize

Relish offers drop-in play, lessons, and a beginner clinic for just five dollars. Players of all levels can enjoy the courts and earn a Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR) for tournaments. The club held its first National Pickleball League tournament from June 27 to June 29 and will host a split-age tournament from August 15 to August 17.

Ben Lampert, Relish’s Director of Pickleball, said, “People of all ages and from all different backgrounds are meeting on the court.” The club’s mission is to welcome everyone, from beginners to competitive players.

The courts sit alongside a modern lounge with natural light, large glass doors, and an outdoor patio with a stage for live music. It creates a comfortable space for people to relax and hang out after playing.

Food Hall With Chef-Created Meals

Relish also includes eight food stalls, a cafe, and a bar. Each stall was created by one of six independent chefs. Meals range from wood-fired pizza and Venezuelan arepas to gyros and acai bowls. “They’re very unique; there’s nothing generic about it,” said Jeff Youngstrom.

Chefs Gary and Ashley Southard of Magic Food Bus moved from running a food truck to having a kitchen at Relish. The space helps chefs grow without opening full restaurants.

The food hall idea follows a national trend. Other similar venues in Colorado include Epic Pickleball in Littleton and Highlands Ranch, Pickleball Food Pub in Westminster and Aurora, Third Shot Pickleball in Wheat Ridge, and SportyPickle in Englewood. Chicken N Pickle also opened its first Colorado location in Thornton.

Filling a Gap in Local Courts

Before Relish opened, Louisville had no indoor pickleball courts. “For a while, Louisville was the only town in the area that didn’t have any designated pickleball courts,” said Jeff Youngstrom.

The City of Louisville has plans to convert a skating rink near the police station on West Via Appia into outdoor courts, but progress has been slow.

Relish helps fill this need while offering more than just a place to play. “It’s like old-school pick-up basketball,” said Jeff Youngstrom. “We wear nametags. We want people to build friendships and then to use all this space for other things they want to do.”

Pickleball Community Continues to Grow

Nearby, Boulder Pickleball offers indoor courts but no food or drink options. Sanitas Brewing shares its building, where players can grab a beer. “We just celebrated our two-year anniversary,” said Adam Johnson, Senior Coach at Boulder Pickleball.

Boulder County still lacks many outdoor pickleball courts. Most are repurposed tennis courts or part of recreation centers.

Relish hopes to change that by offering a new model for the sport. On July 25, the club hosted a launch party for PickleMatch, a dating app based in Boulder made for pickleball lovers.

“Just bring yourself,” said Ben Lampert. “And bring a friend.”
