Ace & Eagle Unveils Pickleball Courts and Virtual Sports Hub at Asheville’s RAD Beer Garden

Ace & Eagle Pickleball and Simulators: A new sports club called Ace & Eagle is teaming up with Hi-Wire’s RAD Beer Garden to bring more action to the Asheville taproom. The project includes three full-size outdoor pickleball courts and four to six golf and multi-sport simulators.

The virtual reality simulators are expected to be ready by mid-September 2025. The pickleball courts could open even earlier. Co-owner Nick Hinton shared that this idea has been a long time in the making. He hopes it will bring people together by combining fun activities with community spirit.

Fun On and Off the Courts

Nick Hinton said the goal is to give people more ways to enjoy sports. Visitors can play casual pickleball with friends or practice golf on the simulators. Ace & Eagle will also have leagues and challenges like “closest to the pin” and “longest drive.”

Members will be able to enjoy weekend football and basketball games while relaxing with a drink. There will be both membership options and hourly play available. A membership will include deals from Hi-Wire, reserved court or simulator time, and access to a real-life Ace & Eagle golf tournament at the Country Club of Asheville.

Building Something New for the Community

Nick Hinton has a background in real estate and tournament golf. He saw a need for new sports options in Asheville after the closing of Helene and wanted to create a space where people could connect through sports.

“It’s a project he’s been wanting to bring to life for years,” Hinton told AVLtoday, adding that this is the right time to rebuild the sports community.

What’s Already at the Taproom

These new additions will join the current list of games at the RAD Beer Garden, which already has ping pong, cornhole, and shuffleboard. Nick Hinton said he hopes the partnership will create buzz and bring more people out to the brewery after its recent reopening.

News in Brief: Ace & Eagle Pickleball and Simulators

Ace & Eagle and Hi-Wire’s RAD Beer Garden are adding three pickleball courts and several sports simulators to their Asheville location. The simulators may be ready by mid-September, with the courts opening sooner. The club will offer leagues, memberships, and events to grow the local sports community.
