Palisade Pickleball Rally Unites Community: The Palisade Pickleball group will host a community pickleball event as part of the town’s RiverFest celebration on Saturday, August 9, at Swanson Park in Palisade, Colorado. The games are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and are open to the public.
The event is part of a larger day-long summer festival organized by the Palisade Events Committee, the Palisade Fire Department, the Palisade Area Lions Club, and the Palisade Super Sledders. RiverFest offers a full lineup of family-friendly activities throughout the day.
Pickleball at Swanson Park
Palisade Pickleball invites players of all ages and skill levels to participate in the event. The games will be held outdoors at Swanson Park, providing a relaxed atmosphere for both recreational play and community connection.
The morning session is designed to encourage casual participation, with no formal competition or registration required. Visitors can simply show up at the courts to play or watch.
Park Fundraiser Also Planned
This year’s event also supports a local effort to improve Swanson Park, where some areas are starting to sink. A fundraiser called Swanson Park Action 4 R Kids (SPARK) will be part of the day’s activities. SPARK has been working to raise money through plant sales and other events to help with needed repairs.
By joining the pickleball games, attendees not only get to enjoy the sport but also show support for improving a key recreational space in the community.
