Island Pickle Pickleball Complex Mashpee: Island Pickle, a new indoor pickleball complex planned for Mashpee, Massachusetts, has received permits for alcohol sales and live entertainment. The Mashpee Select Board approved the licenses on July 28, allowing the venue to serve drinks and host live music from Thursday to Sunday when it opens this fall.
The facility will be located at 51 Evergreen Circle and will include ten pickleball courts, several golf simulators, and a restaurant and tavern. It will cover over 30,000 square feet and be situated inside an industrial park, away from nearby homes.
Plans for a New Indoor Sports Destination
Island Pickle is owned by William Russell, who also owns the Pineapple Caper Cafe in Osterville. The project is designed as an all-in-one spot for indoor fun, offering both sports and dining. The venue’s location in an industrial area was chosen to reduce noise issues linked to outdoor pickleball.
William Russell explained his reason for creating an indoor facility.
“Island Pickle will help address the noise associated with outdoor play that has caused complaints in multiple towns across Cape Cod,” said William Russell.
Mashpee Select Board Grants Permits
On July 28, William Russell spoke to the Mashpee Select Board during their meeting to request two licenses—one for alcohol and one for live entertainment. Both requests were approved, allowing Island Pickle to feature live music four nights a week once it opens.
What Comes Next for Island Pickle
Island Pickle is expected to open in the fall. The combination of pickleball courts, golf simulators, and entertainment options is designed to make it a go-to spot for Upper Cape residents and visitors. The location and indoor setting could also offer a quieter solution to ongoing noise complaints in other areas.
