Patriot Place Pickleball Courts Opening: A new outdoor pickleball facility opened at Patriot Place in Foxborough, Massachusetts, over the weekend. The site features six professional courts and a shaded player lounge. The 17,000-square-foot space opened on Friday, August 1, with a ribbon-cutting and a ceremonial “first serve.”
The outdoor venue, created through a partnership between Patriot Place and ELEVENO, sits on a former parking lot in the South Marketplace near the Trader Joe’s store. It offers an exciting new location for the growing pickleball community during the warm season.
Court Access and Opening Events
Court time at the new Patriot Place pickleball site can now be booked online. Reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. During the first week, ELEVENO is offering free open play to all visitors.
Players can take part in open play during two time slots:
Mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Afternoons from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
On Friday, August 8, which is National Pickleball Day, the facility will host a special round robin event. Intermediate to advanced players will play from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., followed by beginner to intermediate players from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
ELEVENO also announced that more events, including tournaments and training sessions, will be planned throughout the season.
Seasonal Operation and Future Plans
This outdoor facility will stay open until the end of October. After that, the space will transform into the shopping center’s Winter Skate ice rink, continuing Patriot Place’s tradition of seasonal attractions.
Looking ahead, ELEVENO and Patriot Place revealed plans for a 40,000-square-foot indoor pickleball facility. This new space will feature:
Nine professional courts
Courtside seating
A private event space
A pro shop
A food and beverage area
The indoor facility is set to open in the fall, offering year-round play for pickleball fans in the area.
Pickleball’s Growing Popularity
Patriot Place, located next to Gillette Stadium, is already known for its wide variety of shops and restaurants. With 27 dining and nightlife spots, the addition of pickleball continues to expand the center’s activities.
The partnership with ELEVENO highlights the sport’s increasing popularity and aims to bring more people to try pickleball in a welcoming, professional setting.
