Pickleball for Healthy Beginnings Event: The “Pickleball for Healthy Beginnings” event will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at OPE! Brewing Company in West Allis, Wisconsin. The fundraiser includes a pickleball tournament, education sessions, raffles, food, and music. All proceeds will support the “Healthy Beginnings” program at Aurora West Allis Medical Center, which helps women during pregnancy and the baby’s first year.
Pickleball Tournament for a Cause
The event, sponsored by OPE! Brewing Company and the Southeastern Wisconsin Association of Pickleball, will feature a six-bracket pickleball tournament. Brackets are divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels for both men and women. Each participant will play four seeding rounds followed by a single-elimination championship.
Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in every bracket. The entry fee is $25 per person and includes tournament play, medal eligibility, and one beverage from OPE! Brewing Company.
Learn and Improve Your Game
In addition to the tournament, education opportunities will be available. Beginner instruction will be offered for $5 per person, while a step-up class will be available for $10 per person. Experts from ProLite will also be present to give advice on paddle selection, customization, and regripping.
More Than Just Pickleball
The day’s events will include a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle. Food trucks and live music will be on-site to keep visitors entertained. OPE! Brewing Company will also continue to maintain its usual pet-friendly atmosphere, welcoming guests with dogs.
Support for Local Health Services
Funds raised during the event will benefit the Aurora Women’s Pavilion at Aurora West Allis Medical Center. The Pavilion provides full-service care for women and infants, including support for high-risk pregnancies, a neonatal intensive care unit, and breastfeeding services.
