Smashers Pickleball Complex Delays Grand Opening—But Founders Memberships Are Selling Out Fast

Smashers Pickleball Complex Delays: The opening of Smashers, a new multi-million dollar indoor pickleball complex in San Angelo, has been delayed. Founders memberships are available now, with over 24 sold within 12 hours. The complex is located at 2521 Southwest Boulevard near Cavender’s and several hotels.

About the Smashers Complex

J.C. Gallagher and his wife Amber are building Smashers to offer more than just pickleball. J.C. said,

“Smashers will provide a much needed restaurant option at this location.”

The restaurant will serve fast-casual food, including appetizers, smash burgers, power bowls, salads, handheld sandwiches, and personal pizzas. The facility will also feature a full bar, outdoor seating, a playground and yard area for children, and yard games like corn hole.

Construction Update and Membership Sales

Originally, the Gallaghers planned to open Smashers in late summer 2025. However, construction is now running behind schedule. J.C. Gallagher said,

“Construction is moving along nicely. We are pushing to open this fall. That appears to be a feasible time frame with the pace construction is progressing.”

To build interest and community support, the complex has started selling Founders Club memberships. These memberships are limited to the first 300 people who sign up for an annual membership. Monthly memberships will be offered closer to the opening date.

“We’ve had over 24 founder’s memberships sold in the first 12 hours of posting them on Instagram and Facebook,” (J.C. Gallagher).

What This Means for San Angelo

Smashers is expected to become a popular spot for pickleball players and families in San Angelo. The combination of sports, food, and family-friendly features could make it a community hub. The delayed opening means residents will need to wait a bit longer, but the quick sale of memberships shows strong local interest.
