Baird CAPA Cup Pickleball Tournament: The Capital Area Pickleball Association (CAPA) is set to host its third annual Baird CAPA Cup tournament from August 15 to August 17, 2025, at Bakken Park in Cottage Grove. This year’s event expects over 400 participants, doubling the turnout from the first tournament in 2023. The tournament will run four sessions each day, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., featuring at least two competition brackets per session.
Brackets for All Ages and Skill Levels
The tournament includes men’s, women’s, and mixed-gender categories, with brackets based on skill level. There are special brackets for players over 70 years old and a new parent-child team category. Pickleball is known as America’s fastest-growing sport because it is easy to learn and fun to play, welcoming players of all ages.
Kevin McPherson, CAPA President and tournament director, said,
“Pickleball is well known as a sport that’s easy to learn and fun to play with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.”
