Love4Kids Pickleball Showdown Returns—How This Local Tournament Is Transforming Care at Boston Children’s Hospital

Love4Kids Pickleball Showdown: Love4Kids will host its fourth annual fundraiser for Boston Children’s Hospital on Friday, September 5, with pickleball matches at Scituate Racquet & Fitness. The event will raise money for rare disease research and other underfunded programs at the hospital, with every dollar going directly to support patient care and research.

Pickleball Matches and Schedule

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., players will compete in mixed doubles pickleball in three skill levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Matches will be played in a round robin format, with the top player from each bracket advancing to the finals.

The beginner bracket will play from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by finals from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Intermediate players will play from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., with finals from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The advanced group will play from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with finals from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Purpose and Beneficiaries

Proceeds will support three key Boston Children’s Hospital programs: the Center for Advanced Intestinal Rehabilitation, the Roberts Program on Sudden Unexpected Death in Pediatrics, and neurology research on Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy type 2C.

said Betsy Cornell Aceto, co-founder of Love4Kids. Tom Jacsik, Surgical Director of CAIR at BCH, added,

“Love4Kids has provided our department with much needed funds to support our patients with the greatest medical complexity.”

Community Involvement

The fundraiser is organized by Cohasset residents Betsy Cornell Aceto and Casey Cameron, along with board members Caitlin Pinard, Joe Lamberti, and Erin Ryan. Spectators are welcome, and tickets for pickleball or the evening reception cost $125, with all donations fully tax deductible.
