Yankee Park Unveils New Pickleball Courts After Community Surge—Here’s What Players Can Expect

Yankee Park Pickleball Court Expansion: The Centerville-Washington Park District has opened two new pickleball courts at Yankee Park in Washington Township, giving local players more space to enjoy the fast-growing sport. The courts are open daily during daylight hours on a first-come, first-served basis.

Project Completed at Yankee Park

The new courts were added as part of a summer project to resurface the park’s three tennis courts. One tennis court was turned into two pickleball courts, while the other two tennis courts were updated. The work took about 10 weeks to finish.

Community Demand for Pickleball

“Pickleball has become one of the fastest-growing sports in our community,”

said Kristen Marks, Centerville-Washington Park District’s Executive Director.

“In our most recent community survey, residents told us they wanted more pickleball. We’re thrilled to offer this new space for people of all ages to play, connect and have fun.”

The new facilities join the district’s six existing pickleball courts at Activity Center Park, bringing the total number of public courts in the area to eight.

Location and Access

Yankee Park is located at 7500 Yankee Street in Washington Township. All pickleball courts are open only during daylight hours, and no reservations are needed.

Community Impact

The additional courts give residents more chances to play one of the country’s fastest-growing sports. Local leaders believe the courts will encourage both recreation and social connection among players of all ages.
