LAHS Boys Soccer Pickleball Fundraiser: The Los Alamos High School boys soccer team raised more than $1,325 during a community pickleball fundraiser held Saturday, Aug. 9. The event took place from 5 to 7 p.m. and brought together players, supporters, and local businesses.
Pickleball Lessons and Community Support
Members of the Pajarito Pickleball Club, including Scott Parkinson, Dennis Wilhoit, and Kristine Coblentz, coached the soccer players and helped guide them in learning the game. Organizers expressed gratitude for their time and support.
More than 30 community members attended, including local barbers Greg and Dave, who joined in to support the team.
Fun, Games, and Prizes
Music played throughout the evening, and raffle drawings added excitement. Prizes included pickleball merchandise and gift cards to Sugar and Cream. A round-robin pickleball competition was also held, with winners receiving sports gear and macarons.
Contributions from Local Businesses
Local businesses played a big role in the fundraiser’s success. Laura Crucet of Pig-n-Fig, Beef and Leaf, and Sugar and Cream contributed, along with other donors from the community.
