About the Tournament
The Colonial Paddle Battle is part of the APA Tour, the nation’s largest amateur pickleball circuit, with nearly 150 events planned in 2025. APA offers PicklePerks, a program where participants earn money from registration and event victories that can be applied to future tournaments or apparel.
Players will compete in skill-based and age-based divisions, depending on total registrations. The tournament includes round-robin play, followed by bracket matches, with most participants playing 7-9 games.
Event Format and Schedule
Saturday will feature Doubles matches starting at 8:00 AM, while Sunday will host Mixed Doubles from 8:00 AM. Singles matches will take place in the afternoons. Doubles matches follow a single-game round-robin format to 11 points, win by 2, with bracket play afterward. Singles use rally scoring to 21 points, win by 2.
The APA requires players to register in their proper skill levels. Those with 25+ games posted to DUPR and a 60%+ reliability rating will compete at their posted rating.

Early Bird registration rates are $75 for the first event, $55 for the second, and $35 for a third event with a discount code. All payments are final once processed. APA offers credits for withdrawals made 2+ weeks before the event or for players without partners or late registration who cannot be added to the schedule. Outdoor events do not have indoor backup courts, with partial credits provided only under certain conditions.
