Truman State Launches All-Inclusive Pickleball League With Prizes and Campus-Wide Competition

Truman State University Pickleball League Open: Truman State University has announced a new pickleball league open to all students, staff, and faculty. The league will run throughout the fall semester at the Student Recreation Center, giving both beginners and experienced players a chance to compete and improve their skills.

Schedule and Format

The league will take place in two sessions: from August 26 to October 2, and from November 3 to December 4. Games will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays for beginners and lower intermediate players, and from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays for upper intermediate and advanced players.

Participants do not need a partner to join. Players will rotate through several games with randomly chosen teammates and opponents, ensuring variety and balance in competition.

Rewards for Top Players

Each month, trophies will be awarded to the top players in the league. During the first month, winners will also receive pickleball paddles as an added prize.

Opportunity for the Campus Community

Organizers say the league is designed for anyone looking to meet new people, try the sport for the first time, or sharpen their existing skills. In addition to the new league, Truman State University will also host its regular intramural pickleball season from October 6 to October 30.

Why It Matters

The new league creates a fun and structured way for the Truman State University community to stay active, build friendships, and grow interest in pickleball. With both competitive and beginner-friendly options, the program encourages broad participation across campus.
