Adult Beginner Pickleball Classes: Tringali Park Recreation Center in Englewood will begin offering new pickleball classes for adults starting September 13. The sessions, held from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, will teach the basics of the game at a cost of $2 per person.
A Beginner-Friendly Approach
According to Charlotte County, the classes are designed as “one and done” lessons. Participants will learn the fundamentals needed to start playing at a beginner level. Skills covered will include serving, scoring, and general gameplay.
Charlotte County Community Services Coordinator Joele Kirkpatrick said,
“Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the country, and Tringali is excited to help residents get involved.”
Making Classes Accessible
The center will provide paddles for those who need them, but participants are encouraged to bring their own if available. To ensure more people can join, the classes are held on weekends.
Joele Kirkpatrick explained,
“To make participation easier for those with busy weekday schedules, classes are held on Saturdays.”
Upcoming Schedule
Class dates are set for September 13, October 11, November 8, and December 13, 2025. The program will continue into 2026 with sessions on January 10 and February 13.
“Our Intro to Pickleball classes give people a welcoming space to learn the basics, build confidence, and enjoy the game both socially and competitively,”(Joele Kirkpatrick).
Why It Matters
The initiative aims to give newcomers a chance to learn pickleball in a relaxed environment. By offering low-cost, accessible classes, Tringali Park hopes to spark more community interest in the sport while encouraging active and social lifestyles.
