Try the Hottest New Sport: Beginner Pickleball Classes Launch at RCC Warsaw Campus This September

Beginner Pickleball Classes Warsaw Campus: Beginner pickleball lessons will be offered at the Rappahannock Community College Warsaw Campus tennis courts in September. The $35 class will run on September 8, 12, 15, and 19 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and will be taught by local instructor Paul Shrieves.

What Students Will Learn

The course is designed for first-time adult players. Participants will learn pickleball rules, terminology, and basic skills. Each class includes beginner court time to practice. Paddles and balls will be provided, and the class is limited to 10 students.

About the Instructor

Paul Shrieves is an avid pickleball player who is eager to share the sport with new learners in the Northern Neck region. He has worked in telecommunications for 47 years, beginning with C&P Telephone. He later became a telecommunications manager for a healthcare provider before starting his own company, Communications International.

Shrieves also served two years in the military, including 13 months overseas.

Why It Matters

The class gives local adults a chance to try a growing sport in a supportive environment. With limited spots available, it offers personalized instruction while helping expand pickleball’s presence in the community.
