The Picklr Unveils Massive Huntsville Pickleball Club, Promising Game-Changing Experience for Players

The Picklr Huntsville Pickleball Facility: The Picklr, the world’s largest indoor pickleball franchise, will open a new 40,000-square-foot facility in Huntsville, Alabama, this December. Located at 6123 University Drive at the former Home Depot site, the club will feature 11 courts, including seven championship-size courts, and a variety of player-focused amenities.

A Growing Pickleball Hub

This will be The Picklr’s second location in Alabama, following the March 2025 opening in Birmingham. Co-owner Patrick Denney said Huntsville was a natural next step for expansion.

“Huntsville’s a natural progression in the state, obviously, with its high growth,” (Patrick Denney).

The Huntsville site will also include a large event space, a full pro shop in partnership with Pickleball Central, and on-site food and beverage options.

Designed for Competition and Community

Denney explained that the new facility will focus on programming to help players improve their DUPR, or dynamic universal pickleball rating, while still welcoming casual players.

“We’re different because we’re on the competitive side. And if you don’t want to become a pro, we have programs where you can come in and play with your friends. We don’t want anyone to be intimidated.”(Patrick Denney)

The gated courts will feature TVs, a special playing surface, and seating areas connected by pathways. The club also plans to host leagues, tournaments, clinics, and lessons seven days a week from 6 a.m. to midnight.

Membership Options

Membership prices are expected to be similar to those at the Birmingham club, with rates at $125 per month following an initial $30 trial for 30 days. The Picklr will also offer couples, college, and social memberships.

Looking Ahead

Denney, a longtime pickleball player, has watched the sport grow quickly in recent years, especially after the pandemic. He believes Huntsville will embrace the new facility.

“We’re just excited about Huntsville. It’s an amazing city, the Rocket City. We hope to be very much a part of the fabric and the community.”(Patrick Denney)

Why It Matters

The opening of The Picklr in Huntsville adds to the city’s development boom along University Drive and MidCity, joining other major projects like Ikea and Field Day. The facility is expected to boost the local pickleball scene and provide a year-round hub for players of all levels.
