About Bigger Than Sports

Bigger Than Sports is a non-profit group that supports student-athletes in low-income communities. The group helps students develop skills and opportunities for life after high school, whether they go to college or enter the workforce.

The organization was started by Ian Waite, a graduate of Amherst-Pelham Regional High School, a little over a year ago. All money raised through its tournaments goes directly toward this mission.

Why It Matters

This tournament is the group’s first step into pickleball after hosting basketball and flag football events. The event is expected to draw local players and community members while raising funds to continue supporting students in need.

By combining sports with education and career preparation, Bigger Than Sports is working to give young athletes tools for a brighter future.
