Serve Up Fun This Fall: Lake Marion’s Open Gym Pickleball Welcomes All Skill Levels

Lake Marion Open Gym Pickleball: Adults in Montgomery Village will have a chance to play pickleball this fall with weekly open gym sessions at the Lake Marion Community Center. The program runs every Wednesday evening from September 3 to October 8, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at 8821 East Village Avenue.

What the Program Offers

The sessions welcome both new and experienced players. Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, making it easy to learn and fun for all skill levels. The Lake Marion Community Center has marked special pickleball lines on the gym floor. Players use paddles and a plastic ball to volley across the net.

Some equipment will be available, but it is limited. Organizers encourage players to bring their own paddles if possible.

Important Rules and Guidelines

The open gym sessions will only continue if participants arrive on time. If no one shows up within the first 15 minutes, the session will be canceled.

Why It Matters

Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, and Montgomery Village is giving adults a chance to get active while having fun. The program also helps bring people together, offering both exercise and social connection.
