Bay Club’s Blind Draw Pickleball Tournament Promises Surprises, Social Fun, and Fresh Competition

Blind Draw Social Pickleball Tournament: The Bay Club South in Daly City, California, will host the Blind Draw Social Tournament on August 31, 2025. The event, organized by Courtney Patterson, invites players of all levels to compete in a rotating partner round robin format. Registration closes on August 27, 2025.

Event Details

The tournament will take place at 501 Carter Street, Daly City, with newly resurfaced pickleball courts available for play. Registration costs $35 per player, while Bay Club members receive a discounted fee of $25 using the code BCBlindDraw. Friends of the Golden Gate Pickleball Foundation can also apply a $10 discount.

Once enough players register for a division, participants will be contacted to finish registration through Swish.

Format and Schedule

Participants will sign up individually, and partners will be assigned randomly. “Join us for a fun Blind Draw Social tournament. You do not need to be a member of The Bay Club to participate. Sign up as an individual, and we will roll the dice and randomly partner you with someone in your division. Good Luck!” the event notice reads.

The event begins on Sunday, August 31, with women’s and men’s doubles divisions in skill levels 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0+, starting at 8:30 a.m. Teams will be announced one day before registration closes.

Players are guaranteed at least three matches. Games may be played to 15 points or best two-out-of-three to 11 points. Medals will be awarded to gold medal teams.

Extras for Players

Six indoor permanent courts will be used, with Franklin X40 balls as the official tournament ball. Complimentary snacks and drinks will be available, and a free barbecue will be served at 12:00 p.m.

Rules and Refund Policy

The tournament is not DUPR-sanctioned, meaning scores will not be submitted to DUPR. Brackets are capped at 10 teams per skill level, and the organizer may combine divisions if needed.

Refunds will not be given for cancellations within seven days of the event. Players who cancel earlier will receive 75% of their fee back to cover administrative costs.

Why It Matters

The Blind Draw Social Tournament is designed to build community by mixing players together in a fun, casual setting. With new courts, food, and social activities, the event offers more than just competition—it also encourages new friendships and broader participation in pickleball across the San Francisco Bay Area.
