Massive Dink District Pickleball Complex Set to Transform Carolina Forest in 2026

Dink District Pickleball Facility Opening: Carolina Forest will get a new 40,000-square-foot pickleball facility called the Dink District, set to open in 2026. Dr. Ron K. Reynolds, the builder, said the indoor facility at 200 Ronald McNair Boulevard will allow players to enjoy pickleball year-round, no matter the weather.

About the Dink District

The Dink District will have 14 professional-grade courts, a main championship court for tournaments, a pro shop, locker rooms, and a lounge with views of the courts. The facility will offer membership and walk-in options, open play, reserved courts, classes, and leagues for players of all skill levels.

Builders and Vision

Dr. Ron K. Reynolds and his son Kerry Reynolds are behind the project. Dr. Reynolds has been active in Myrtle Beach business and healthcare since 1986. Kerry Reynolds, a local pickleball player and certified level 2 instructor with the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association, brings expertise in the sport to the venture.

“The facility will cater to players of all skill levels by providing a mixture of membership and walk-in options. While focusing on open play, Dink District will also accommodate reserved courts and a variety of classes and leagues,”

the announcement said.

Pickleball’s Growing Popularity

Pickleball blends elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Players use solid paddles to hit a plastic ball with holes over a low net. The sport is simple, inclusive for all ages, and is rapidly growing across the United States. The Dink District aims to make Horry County a top sports destination.

Dr. Ron K. Reynolds noted that pickleball is growing quickly and the complex will support the expanding community. By building in Carolina Forest, the youngest neighborhood in Horry County, the developers avoided the zoning and political challenges found in Myrtle Beach.
