North Idaho Shootout Returns: New Venue, More Courts, and Perks Await Pickleball Fans This September

The 5th Annual North Idaho Shootout All Ages & USSP by Pickleball Is Great will take place from September 5 to September 7, 2025, at PEAK Health & Wellness Center in Post Falls, Idaho. Registration closes on August 28, 2025, at 11:45 p.m. PST. The cost is $65 until August 27 and increases to $75 on the final day.

New Venue and Format

This year’s tournament will debut a new location with up to 16 fenced pickleball courts, split evenly between indoor and outdoor play. The event will use a round-robin format with playoffs awarding gold, silver, and bronze medals for players at skill levels 3.0 to 5.0 and above.

The tournament director may combine brackets if needed to ensure balanced and competitive play. Players will also enjoy perks such as free breakfast, lunch, and access to a beer garden.

Match Rules and Ratings

All matches will be played using the Selkirk Pro S1 ball. No membership is required to register, though the tournament is officially approved by USA Senior Pickleball.

Ratings for under-50 and 50+ events will follow US Senior Pickleball standards. Even though DUPR ratings are displayed publicly, they will only be used as a guideline. Players will self-rate but may also be placed based on previous tournament ratings.

Tournament officials noted:
“Even though DUPR is the only rating listed for public view, we are using DUPR only as a guideline. All rating systems have their pros and cons. Players will self-rate and we will also be using your previous tournament rating (PBR) as our determinant.”

Players may only register up to 0.5 above their self-rating. Concerns about a player’s placement can be raised with the director, who will review tournament history and rating systems before making adjustments.

Event Schedule

The three-day tournament will feature age- and skill-based competition for both senior and all-ages players:

  • Friday: Senior Mixed Doubles (50+), All-Ages Men’s and Women’s Singles

  • Saturday: All-Ages Men’s and Women’s Doubles, Senior Men’s and Women’s Doubles (50+)

  • Sunday: All-Ages Mixed Doubles, Senior Men’s and Women’s Mini Singles

Senior events will follow five-year age divisions. Players with a US Senior Pickleball membership number in their profile will receive a $10 refund.

Registration and Refund Policy

Early pricing of $55 plus $15 per event ended June 30. From July 1 onward, registration costs $65 plus $15 per event, with the price increasing to $75 on August 28. Payment is required at the time of registration.

Refunds will be processed with a $15 minimum administrative fee for all withdrawals. The deadline to request a refund is August 27, 2025. If weather forces the cancellation of any event, players may receive up to 50% of their entry fee back.
