Park City Indoor Pickleball Courts: Park City is moving forward with plans for a new public indoor pickleball facility. On August 26, the Park City Council approved an agreement with Wadsworth Development Group to build the facility on about three acres of land near Park City Hospital in the Quinn’s Junction area.
Plans for the Facility
The proposed facility would cover 35,000 square feet and include 12 indoor pickleball courts. The Picklr, a company that runs pickleball facilities across Utah and the country, would operate the new location under the agreement.
Over the next 90 days, the city attorney’s office and Wadsworth Development Group will work on drafting the details of a ground lease.
Why the Facility Is Needed
Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the United States, and demand for courts in Park City has risen quickly. Last year, the Park City Council heard from many local players about the shortage of indoor space, especially during the winter months.
The city’s recreation department had previously tried setting up temporary pickleball courts at the Utah Film Studio. However, the setup did not meet quality standards for play.
What Happens Next
The agreement marks a key step toward addressing the community’s demand for more indoor pickleball opportunities. Once the lease is finalized, the project could move forward to construction. The new facility is expected to serve local players year-round and strengthen Park City’s recreational offerings.
