Lake Marion Pickleball Open Gym Nights: Adults in Montgomery Village will have a chance to play pickleball this fall at the Lake Marion Community Center. The open gym program runs every Friday evening from September 5 to October 10, between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Details of the Program
The event will be held at the Lake Marion Community Center Gymnasium, located at 8821 East Village Avenue, Montgomery Village, Maryland, 20886. Participants can join weekly to enjoy a sport that blends tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.
A Sport for All Levels
Players will use paddles and a lightweight plastic ball on a court marked with special pickleball lines. Both beginners and experienced players are welcome to participate. Some equipment will be available, though supplies are limited.
Rules for Participation
Organizers noted that “Open gym will be canceled if no participants arrive within first 15 minutes after activity starts.” This ensures the gym is used efficiently.
Promoting Fitness and Fun
Described as “a fun game that combines badminton, tennis & Ping-Pong,” pickleball is open to adults of all skill levels. The program aims to provide community members with a social and active way to spend their Friday evenings.
Looking Ahead
The open gym will run through early October, offering residents six weeks of play. With increasing interest in pickleball nationwide, the program could encourage more adults in Montgomery Village to stay active and connect through sport.
