Massive 13-Court Pickleball Club Set to Transform East Brunswick’s Sports Scene

The Picklr East Brunswick Pickleball Facility: The Picklr, a fast-growing indoor pickleball franchise, will open a 40,000-square-foot facility in East Brunswick by mid-2026. The site, located at 755 Route 18 in the former Brunswick Square Mall, will include 13 professional-grade courts and be part of a larger redevelopment project.

Location and Access

The new club will serve Central New Jersey residents with easy access to the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, and Route 9. The project is part of a mixed-use redevelopment of the mall, which will include residential, retail, and commercial spaces.

Facility Features

The East Brunswick location will feature 13 courts designed with outdoor surfacing from Just Courts, the official provider for The Professional Pickleball Association and The Picklr network. Members will have access to unlimited play, leagues, and tournaments.

Players can also book private and semi-private lessons with certified Picklr trainers. Membership perks include four free clinics each month and four guest passes. The club will also have locker rooms, a pro shop, and private event space.

Membership and Management

The Picklr uses a nationwide membership system. Members in East Brunswick will also be able to play at other New Jersey locations in Manahawkin-LBI and Fair Lawn. Arete Sports Group will manage and operate the new facility.

Leadership and Ownership

Tom Neale, Founder of Arete Sports Group and Pickleball Long Island, said: “East Brunswick and the surrounding communities have embraced pickleball, and this new club is designed not only to meet the needs of today’s players, but to fuel the sport’s continued growth across the region.”

He added: “We believe that once players discover our first-class state-of-the-art premier facilities, all-inclusive member benefits, professional level playing conditions, and a wide range of programs for every age and skill level, they’ll choose The Picklr as their home for pickleball.”

The ownership group also includes Scott Schubiger, a New Jersey resident and former Chief Growth Officer at The Picklr, who played a key role in expanding the brand from a few clubs to more than 500 locations sold worldwide.

Business Deal

The lease for the East Brunswick site was handled by the owner-operator group and negotiated by Global Realty Services USA with building landlord Paramount Realty, the company stated.

Why It Matters

The new facility highlights the rapid rise of pickleball in New Jersey and nationwide. With professional courts, training, and community events, The Picklr is positioning itself as a major hub for both competitive and casual players in the region.
