Tindall Park Unveils Stunning New Courts—Grand Reopening Promises Fun, Food, and Family Festivities

Tindall Park Pickleball Court Renovation: Middletown Township will officially reopen the newly renovated tennis and pickleball courts at Tindall Park on Friday, September 5, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The celebration will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and feature a DJ, raffle prizes, giveaways, food trucks, and family activities.

A Year-Long Renovation

The courts were closed last July after players and residents urged the township to fix the aging surfaces. Over the past year, the township resurfaced all the tennis courts, installed new nets, and converted four tennis courts into pickleball courts. Tindall Park now has 12 tennis courts and six pickleball courts.

Other Improvements

The upgrades included resurfacing the basketball court, adding new nets, and building a new driveway. A dog park also opened within the past year. Mayor Tony Perry described the work, saying, “It’s been a complete overhaul of Tindall Park.”

Why the Work Was Needed

Before repairs, the courts had cracks caused by tree roots and unsafe, uneven surfaces. Overhanging trees blocked sunlight, keeping the courts damp and mossy after rain. Players from Middletown High School North were among those who pushed for the changes, as the unsafe conditions made practice difficult.

Looking Ahead

Tindall Park is one of Middletown’s largest parks, and the improvements are expected to attract more visitors. With new courts and updated facilities, the park is now safer, more modern, and better suited for both tennis and pickleball players.
