Palm Desert Advanced Beginner Pickleball Clinics: Advanced beginner pickleball players in Palm Desert will have a chance to sharpen their skills through a new series of clinics starting this fall. The group sessions, led by instructor Mary Barsaleau, will be held at Palm Desert Civic Center Park from September 30 through October 21.
Clinic Schedule
The clinics will take place every Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at 43900 San Pablo Avenue in Palm Desert. Adults are invited to register, and drop-ins may be allowed with approval from the instructor. Participants must show proof of payment on the day of the clinic.
Skills Focus
The program is designed for advanced beginner players. At this stage, players can keep longer rallies going, use their backhand more often, and make easier volleys. Many are starting to practice dinks and lobs, though they may not yet know the best times to use them. Serves are becoming more reliable, and knowledge of the rules is improving.
Instructor and Goals
Mary Barsaleau will guide the group through drills and exercises that build confidence and improve stroke development. The clinics aim to give players a stronger foundation before they advance to higher levels of competition.
Importance for Players
The sessions provide a structured way for players to build consistency and strengthen key skills. By focusing on technique, strategy, and rules, participants will be better prepared for casual play and competitive matches in the future.
